·  数少ない日本の男性ジャズ歌手の一人、矢野眞道（やのまさみち）が８年間のアメリカでの修行を終えて帰ってきました。 東京、大阪、横浜、神戸、埼玉や千葉などでのライブ活動以外に 英語力をいかして 個人でも、又、尚美学園大学や HMVP大手町スタジオでも 後進の教育に力を注いでいます。 矢野は1985年より メーザー・ヴォーカル・ハウスで、伊藤君子氏に師事し、 ジャズヴォーカルを学ぶ傍ら 都内のライブハウスでソウルシンガーとして活躍していた間に1987年度 ＵＣＣジャズボーカル新人コンテスト年間最優秀賞に選ばれました。 そして 1993年夏よりアメリカ留学のため、ミシガン州 ＡｎｎＡｒｂｏｒ市で暮らし始めました。 2000年暮れに イースタンミシガン州立大学を心理学と社会学のダブル専攻、主席で卒業をするまでの間に地元デトロイトのライブハウスにゲストヴォーカリストとして数々出演しました。
 ·  2001年秋に帰国後 日本でのライブ活動を再開しました。 阿佐ヶ谷ジャズストリート、高槻ジャズ･ストリート、守口・門真ジャズフェスティバルや和歌山ジャズ祭などに連続出演しています。 そして、2005年春よりヴォーカル･ユニット «ａ·ｉ» のメンバーとしても活躍しています。

 ·  Masamichi «Shin» Yano is a jazz vocalist who performs regularly in Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, Kobe, Saitama and Chiba. He spent eight years studying and working in the Detroit area in the U.S. after winning a major award as the top new jazz singer in 1987. After graduating summa cum laude with a double major in psychology and sociology from Eastern Michigan University in December of 2000, he worked as a counsellor for the handicapped at Michigan Ability Partners. Returning to Japan in the fall of 2001, he has been a regularly featured performer in jazz festivals in Asagaya (Tokyo), Takatsuki and Moriguchi (Osaka) and in Wakayama. He is a member of the Vocal Unit «a·i» which was formed in the Spring of 2005 and has gained wide support for their bright and innovative performances. In addition to being an instructor in the Jazz & Pops Department of Shobi University in Saitama, Yano also teaches privately to individuals and groups.
